Testimonies of Healings

Healing is an active part of Christian Science. All kinds of healing are constantly taking place, of physical, mental, emotional ailments, as well as employment, relationship, and supply issues. You can hear about them at our Wednesday Evening services. You can read about them in our weekly and monthly magazines . You can listen to them on the Sunday morning radio programs. You can experience them yourself!

Practitioners and Teachers

Christian Science practitioners devote their full time to the healing ministry of Christian Science and heal patients through prayer alone. These spiritually experienced men and women are also happy to answer questions about Christian Science. A Christian Science teacher, in addition to being a practitioner, conducts a 12-day class each year for students who have a sincere interest in growing in their understanding of Christian Science and its healing practice.

Christian Science Institutional Chaplains

Christian Science chaplains are experienced Christian Scientists who volunteer their time to share with inmates in local institutions the healing, redemption, joy and love that goes along with a knowledge of God's nature. This work is pastoral and ecumenical. The primary goal is not to increase the number of Christian Scientists but, rather, it is to bring comfort and inspiration and reform to inmates. The chaplains work directly with individual inmates and also in cooperation with chaplains from other faiths in support of this goal. The chaplains typically give away dozens of Bibles and copies of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy and Christian Science Sentinels and Heralds every month. They also engage in one-on-one sessions with individuals, pray for inmates when requested to do so and conduct church services and/or Sunday Schools in the institutions. In addition to chaplains, there are also workers who also go into the institutions in support of the work of the chaplains. Contact our church for more information in the East Bay. There is a website for the California State Christian Science Institutional Committee.
